The 2017 Bad Decision Tour is taking shape…
And I want to come to your city. More specifically, your house, condo rooftop, vacation home, barn, patio, back deck, ranch, yard, etc. I’d love to come play for you and your friends this summer. “Roxi” you say, “that sounds fantastic, but I’ve never hosted a house concert before, and I have some questions…”
Got you covered! Read on…
What’s a House Concert? How Do They Work?
Here’s the scoop: You invite your friends and family (well, if you don’t like your family you totally don’t have to invite them, but you get the point) over for some food, fun and music. At a prearranged time during your shindig, I’ll play a show for about an hour or so. I don’t need a lot of space. The fact that I’m only a few feet away from all of you is what makes this such a unique experience for everyone involved.
So…like…could I host one in my house? On my back deck? At the local park?
Yes. Yes you could. I’ve played house concerts from Oregon to Ohio and Minnesota to Mississippi. I’ve played them in living rooms, on back decks, in backyards, on patios, in parks, on golf courses, in community centers, and more. Honestly, anywhere there’s a couple of power outlets and some people who love live music works fantastically. Have keyboard, will travel. That’s kinda my thing.
This all sounds like fun – I’d like more info!
Perfect. I’ve got all sorts of information for those considering hosting a house concert at my website right here.
What should I do if I’m interested in hosting?
Here’s how this works – First, read through the info here at my website. Then, if you’re interested in hosting sometime this summer, hit me up via my contact form and say “Send me your house concert brochure, pretty-please” or “ME! I WANNA HOST!” or something along those lines. And I’ll send you my very official-looking ‘Roxi Copland House Concert Info Sheet’. Read through it, and if it all sounds cool to you, holler back at me with something akin to “Let’s do this!” Then I’ll figure out when I could possibly be in your area this summer and we’ll get a conversation going about putting together a truly fabulous house concert that’ll have your neighbors talking about how cool you are for years to come. (Right now this is limited to those in the 48 contiguous US states, but I have international aspirations, so don’t fret!)
On another note, speaking of cool – I’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who placed a Pre-Order for the Bad Decision Record. The tour posters arrived yesterday (see below), the test vinyl pressings arrived last week (also see below), the tees are due in next week, and the CDs and vinyl are on schedule as well (CDs will arrive by the end of April, the Vinyl is coming in May). I’ll start mailing out the Pre-Order packages as soon as the CDs arrive. Hooray!
Pictures, ’cause they’re fun: Here’s test pressing #1 for the new vinyl. Insert happy dance here.
Oooh, and posters! I love it when the UPS guy brings me presents. YAY PRESENTS.
One more thing – Everyone who Pre-Ordered gets the entire album digitally on Monday, April 10th.
Keep an eye on your inboxes, friends. So excited for you to hear the new music! Feel free to let me know what you think via email or social media. I always love chatting music with people who have impeccable taste (obviously, if you’re receiving this newsletter, you qualify ;)
Cheers, and I hope to see many of you this summer….
