Congrats Contest Winner!

Greetings assorted music lovers!

As many of you know, last week I announced an exciting opportunity for you to win a FREE pair of tickets to the opening night of Max and Roxi Live at the Temple Theater. What? You didn’t know about the contest, you say? Well, that’s because you’re not on my email list. It was an email-list only contest, just one of the many benefits of signing up. Find out about concerts, contests, promotions, CD releases, exclusive deals, etc. All delivered handily straight into your inbox once a month. All you have to do is sign up and wait for the good news to arrive. Click here now. Did I mention that signing up gets you a free track?

OK, without further ado…the contest. For those of you who missed it, here was the contest prompt:

Send me an email and tell me why think you should get the free tickets. Tell me it’s because you’re my biggest, hugest fan. Tell me it’s because your lover/sister/mother/brother/etc is my biggest, hugest fan and it would just mean so much to them to go and you want to help them because you’re an awesomely nice person. Tell me that you (or your person) had a rough month and could just use a night out on the town. Tell me whatever the heck you want if you think it will make me pick you. My crack team (kid brother, crazy dog) and I will pick the best one, and that person will get the tickets.

Drum roll please………….and the winner is: Paula P. Congratulations Paula! Your tickets will be waiting for you at will call on opening night. (There are only a few tickets left to opening night. If you didn’t win, click here now to get your reseve tickets or buy them at the door.) Paula moved me with her story (see below). Thank you all for playing, and see you at the Temple!

Since we’re being completely honest and not in any way hosers (there’s a Canadianism for you!) I would LOVE to attend the show. Not only because I love you AND Max, but I wouldn’t be able to attend if I had to buy tickets because I have been unemployed for nearly two years, thanks to the recession. I’m going to start temping soon – but not soon enough to allow me to purchase tickets. That means this contest is my one shot at seeing you both before you take off for greener pastures. Give it some thought, eh? And if I win I’ll bring you both a couple of Mooseheads to show my appreciation.

Max & Roxi Live at the Temple

Ladies and gentlemen; boys and girls; music lovers of all ages:

It is officially only 9 short days until opening night! That’s right – Max and Roxi Live at the Temple Theater will debut in less than two weeks. Do you have your tickets yet? What? Why not? Go click and get them right away.

Still reading, eh? (working on my Canadianisms). Well if I haven’t yet convinced you to quit reading, click on the link and buy tickets right way, let me offer you a few reasons why. Reason 1) First and foremost, I’m working on my Canadianisms! Most of you know why, but in case you missed the news I’m moving to Vancouver and the Max and Roxi Live at the Temple Series will be my last show in the Midwest. Ever. Ok, that last bit was a complete lie. I’ll totally be back on tour as often as I can make it, but all the same, don’t you want to say that you were at the Roxi Copland Farewell Concert Series?  Reason 2) For those of you who don’t know Max Wellman, you really should check him out. He’s rather talented. For those of you who do know him, he’s moving to Atlanta! (Apparently, he wanted to be as far away from me as possible while still on the continent. Not really. Just playin’ Max.) So as you’ve already gathered, this is also the Max Wellman Farewell Concert Series. Seriously, how often do you have the opportunity to go to two epic farewell events at the same time for the same price?! You really can’t skip this one.

Cheers,

Roxi

Sorry About the Meredith show

Hey all!

I just wanted to write a little post to tell you that I’m really sorry the show at Meredith didn’t happen today. My guys and I were all set up and ready to go, but then someone came over and told us that the show had been cancelled by someone up on high at Meredith corporate. If you’ve seen the news today, then you know why. In any event, I apologize to all of you who came out to see us – we’ll be at the Cosmopolitan in downtown Des Moines tomorrow night to play a free show starting at 8pm. And this time, we’re playing. For real. xoxoxo’s ad infinitum.

Farewell Concert Series

Hey all!  Hope you’re enjoying the beginning of summer – I know I am. That’s probably helped by the fact that I’m currently relaxing near a little tiny beach town called Majahual in Mexico. I rented a house on the beach with some friends & we’re hanging out for a week – I needed a little break after my cross-country Youthful Indiscretion tour. And as you can tell from the pic below, I’m definitely enjoying the vacation. Speaking of the Youthful Indiscretion Tour – if you didn’t get a chance to buy a Tour tee when I dropped by your city, you’re in luck, because we just put the official Roxi Tour tees up at my online merch shop

I’ll be back in the US in a few days, and then I’m setting to work arranging the music for that epic show I told you about last month – you know, the one that’s taking place the last two weekends of July at the Temple for the Performing Arts in Des Moines, Iowa. My friend Max Wellman will be co-producing the show with me, along with the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines. And if you’re anywhere in the Midwest, you should buy tickets here now while they’re still available. I have a feeling they’re going to sell out, because it’s my farewell concert series.

WHAT!?! You exclaim. What do you mean ‘farewell?!?’

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention – I’m moving to Canada. Vancouver, BC, to be exact. It’s a long story, but suffice it to say that I need to spend a little time back on my beloved west coast.  Which means that those of you out there will be seeing a whole lot more of me. Those of you everywhere else, I promise I’ll be back on tour, ok?  Seriously.

I’ll be doing one public performance in June, at my favorite stomping grounds in Des Moines – the Cosmopolitan. I’ll be there Friday June 17th from 8-11, & it’s a free show. This’ll be my last show at the Cosmopolitan for who knows how long, & I’d love for you to come hang with us!
That’s it for now – as always, thanks for being a part of this email list & for continuing to support me in my music-making endeavors. You rock my world.

Cheers,

-Roxi
