September Performances
Dearest assorted music-loving friends,
Greetings, and welcome to fall (I know, I’m sorry too. But if it’s coming regardless, we may as well make the best of it). And what better way to do that than by coming out to enjoy some live music and great times?
So. Fortunately there are a number of fantastic opportunities for that sort of thing in September (see below, where you can find all of my public performances for the month listed) – I’ll be keeping busy with my band, playing quite a bit with the Ladyfingers, and handling the keys for Max Wellman. A couple performances I’ll highlight:
On Sept. 5th, you can find the Roxi Copland Band at the Cosmopolitan, with guest Seth Hedquist on guitar, Dave Altemeier on upright and electric bass (and assorted cynical commentary) and Tim Crumley on the kit. If you haven’t had a chance to see Seth with us yet, you should. He’s brilliant.
Sept 19th will see the full band back at the Cosmopolitan, with Eric Sickler sitting in on keys. Dave and Tim will be back with us as well.
If you stick around until later in the evening, chances are you’ll get to hear Eric and Tim do some background vocals. Depending on how many Manhattans he has, Eric may well break into a solo performance. Trust me – this is not to be missed.
Ahh, yes. And should you be heading to the Des Moines Symphony performance featuring Amy Grant, why – you can still get your dose of jazz for the evening. I’ll be playing keys with the Max Wellman Quartet from 10-midnight at the post-gala. They have yet to let us know exactly where this will be taking place, so keep your eyes and ears open for the advertisements that are sure to start popping up.
I think that’s about it for now – hope to see you at a performance soon!
cheers,
Roxi
